Colour challenge castle...

I made this for the colour challenge on Splitcoast today. The colours were: Lovely lilac, certainly celery and pretty in pink. I didn't have any lovely lilac cs so I substituted for lavendar lace. I finally broke down and placed an order from Lizzie Anne Designs and this was one of the sets I bought. I received it last week I think but this was the first time I inked it up (besides stamping out some images for some fellow PIF's). With the colour challenge colours this idea just sort of popped into my head so I just rolled with it and it turned out pretty close to what I had pictured so I must say after all the work I put into it, I am happy!

I started by cutting the lavendar cs into a tower shape (the cs is 9.25X 8 -scored at 4" so it will fit perfectly into a business (legal) size envie. Then I put the lavendar "tower" through my cuttlebug to give it the "brick" look. WOW! That was kind of scary..thought I was gonna break the bug but it made it...lol. I sandwiched the folder between the card front and then closed the card around it and then rolled it through the machine. Obviously the top part of the castle and lower part is not embossed as the emboss folder isn't that long but I knew I was adding "grass" and scallops and a roof to hide the un-embossed areas. I used my slit punch to make the scallops and then cut the tower roof out of pretty in pink and popped it up onto dimensionals. I cut a window out of the tower so my princess would be peeking out. I stamped her 3 times. Twice onto very vanilla and once onto my patterned paper. I needed to cut out her arms and her dress and paper pieced them onto my vanilla panel and then added some dimensionals behind the window so it looks like she is "inside" the castle. I stamped, paper pieced and cut out the castle tapestry and added the Birthday sentiment (this is up on dimensionals as well). I stamped the little frog onto certainly celery and set him on the ledge (on dimensionals as well of course) and then added some grass.

What a fun card! This is the first time I have ever done anything quite like this, but had a lot of fun with it. Now the question will be if I can ever bear to sell it or give it away...ha ha ha.

Stamps: once upon a time (Lizzie Anne Designs). CS: lavendar lace, pretty in pink, certainly celery. Ink: basic black, markers: pretty in pink and barely banana. Access: slit punch, emboss folder, cuttle bug, stardust pen, dimensionals.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day, the sun is shining and it is beautiful here!
