Get well messenger...

I adore the new Stampin up cattalogue!!! I seriously think this is their best catty yet. This card is made using the new "always" set. I borrowed this set from a friend to use for a Valentine's card class I held early this week. I decided to make this get well card while I still had her set. I stamped the bird in chocolate chip ink onto whisper white cs, I spattered it with the colour spritzer tool and sponged the edges in chocolate chip. I stamped the greenery stamp in chocolate chip onto certainly celery and stamped full power and stamped after it had been stamped off for a softer look. The sentiment under the bird says " always on my mind forever in my heart" stamped in soft sky. I love this colour combo together and will definately use it again in the future.

Stamps: always, weathered bg. CS: chocolate chip, soft sky, certainly celery and whisper white. Inks: chocolate chip and soft sky. Access: chocolate taffetta ribbon, hodgepodge hardware, colour spritzer tool, sponge, marker.

Happiness always...

I whipped this up for the featured stamper on Splitcoast for todays challenge. For this challenge, you are supposed to "case" a card from the featured stamper's gallery. But change at least 2 things about the design. This is the card that I cased here.

I stamped the paisley bg in elegant eggplant on pale plum cs. For the main image panel, I stamped the flower bunch from "embrace life" in pale plum and perfect plum ink. I used the sentiment from the retired "happy harmony" set. I embossed the blossoms in black emboss powder onto glossy cs and used a brayer to apply the ink. I cut them out and popped them up with dimensionals. I wound the silver cord around for the finishing touch.

Stamps: embrace life, paisley bg, happy harmony. CS: elegent eggplant, pale plum, whisper white, glossy white. Inks: elegent eggplant, pale plum, perfect plum, versamark. Access: silver cord, blk emboss powder, heat gun, dimensionals.

I had a lot of fun making this card and really like the outcome of it. Unfortunately, I took the picture this evening so, lighting was tricky and some parts of the card are a bit washed out. Hopefully, the picture does the card some justice?!

Best Fishes...

I decided to pull out my retired "By Sea" set and make a couple of gel cards. I had so much fun with this set...an oldy but a goody...lol. For a tutorial on how to make gel cards, look here.

Really be careful on how much gel you put in your little bags! The "girls" card, I added to much gel so the card is too heavy and bulky.

Cherish Bride...

Another bride card for you...I made a few to put aside for the store I sell my cards in, in preparation for "wedding season". I adore the colour combo on this card. I stamped baroque motifs in soft sky ink onto corresponding cardstock. I cuttlebugged her dress (as usual) but did not add dazzling diamonds to this one. I left her soft and elegent. I used the corner ticket punch for the top corners of the main image and the sentiment strip. I tied some chocolate chip satin ribbon on the bottom to finish her off.

Stamps: Baroque motifs, Bride (Rubber Romance). CS: kraft, chocolate chip, soft sky and very vanilla. Ink: blk staz on, chocolate chip, soft sky. Access: corner ticket punch, cuttlebug and emboss folder, blender pen, chocolate chip satin ribbon, exacto knife.

I also wanted to thank the lovely ladies leaving comments on my posts. That is so thoughtful and I appreciate them very much. I hope everyone is having as good weather as we are having here. Beautiful sunshine, but very cold and crisp. I love the look of the cold, white frost and the bright sun shining down....very picturesque.

Valentine's Chocolate box...

I am holding a Valentine's card class next week and this will be one of the projects that we will be making. I got the directions for this version of the 2-4-6-8 box off of Splitcoast. The only changes I will be making to this box is I will be using white staz on instead of the black and obviously using not retired paper. I will be using the new close to cocoa designer paper instead.

stamps: Happy heart day, baroque motifs. CS: loves me designer paper, very vanilla, close to cocoa, pretty in pink and acetate. Inks: basic black, blk staz on, pretty in pink, certainly celery and ruby red markers. Access: ribbon, acetate, tag punch, cropodial and chocolate almonds.

Basic Bride...

As promised here is my other bride card. Very similiar to the first. I did not cut this one out obviously and used different colours and no bg stamp. I love how elegent and regal this card looks. Sigh....I just love this basic grey colour. I cuttlebugged her dress and glittered it just like the other one. I added a little bit of red marker for her lips and flowers. Large prima blossom with a pink crystal brad in the center for added elegence.

Stamps: Bride (Rubber Romance). CS: basic black, ruby red, basic grey and whisper white. Ink: blk staz on, ruby red marker. Access: cuttle bug, emboss folder, 2way glue, dazzling diamonds, prima flowers, crystal brad, sheer silver organdy ribbon and glue dot.

I said I would share another bride card with you today...I lied....ha ha ha! I made this last night and decided to share this one first. I will share the bride card tomorrow okay?!

Unfortunately, I had a very hard time getting a great shot of this card this morning so I hope this one at least does it some justice. I had this idea building in my head since tuesday night so it was a relief to get it out and onto paper. Pretty self explanatory card. Stamped the star three times in pretty in pink, stamped the bg with flannel plaid in white craft ink and used the alpha wheel for the bottom panel (very vanilla with pretty in pink ink). The card base is blush blossom. I added some vanilla taffetta ribbon, a rounded tab and the sentiment.

Stamps: nursury necessities. CS: blush blossom, pretty in pink and very vanilla. Ink: pretty in pink, white craft and blk staz on. Access: rounded tab punch, brad, vanilla taffeta ribbon, dimensionals.

Mellow Bride...

I love this Bride image from Rubber Romance. I stamped her onto whisper white using blk staz on ink and used an exacto knife to cut her dress out. I used my cuttlebug on a whisper white panel and layered it under the stamped bride. Using my 2way glue pen I outlined all the "embossed" edges and covered it with dazzling diamonds to give her a gorgeous wedding dress. I think the rest of the card is pretty self explanatory so I won't bore you with the details. I made another one of these cards that is very similiar that I will post tomorrow.

stamps: bride (Rubber Romance), tres chic bg. CS: basic black, whisper white, mellow moss. Inks: blk staz on, mellow moss and markers (mellow moss, barely banana and blush blossom). Access: prima flowers, blk organdy ribbon (May Arts), brad, cuttle bug and emboss panel, 2way glue pen, dazzling diamonds, exacto knife and ticket corner punch.

He's a star!

Here's another card I made using that set!! Told ya I loved it...hee hee.

I stamped the stars onto whisper white cs and cut them out and popped them up onto dimensionals. For the boat, same thing except I used patterned paper for the sails. I added a little button to the boat again (just looks so cute and whimsical witht the little button added). To get the scalloped edge, I used my small circle punch and punched out circles on a scrap piece of cs and then glued them down along the edge of the bayou panel. I added some stitched ribbon and a sentiment and that finished her off! The only thing I wanted to add was a mini baby pin to the ribbon but, when I went into my supplies, I only had pink and bright green ones left! So, I had to go without.

Blue Seas...

I have been loving the new "nursery necessities" set from Stampin' up! I was really on the fence about ordering it but, with the extra discount on the pre-order, I just went for it and am so glad I did! I have been going nuts stamping with this set.

I ripped up edges of blue buckaroo cs to make waves, used my 2way glue pen to add dazzling diamonds to the ripped edges. I paper pieced the sails of the little boat and added a little button for a sweet little embellishment. (the base of the sailboat is actually bashful blue stamped off, it seems to look a little washed out in the photo). The waves and sailboat are up on dimensionals so it really looks dimensional. I made a couple of these so, for the other one I stamped the "rock a bye baby" sentiment in black so it stands out much better than the one in the photo.

Stamps: nursery necessities. CS: whisper white, bashful blue, buckaroo blue (patterned paper scraps: my minds eye, rusty pickle). Ink: bashful blue, white, barely banana. Access: 2way glue pen, dazzling diamonds, dimensionals, soft subtles buttons.

Pink Bronco...

I really wish the main image showed up a little brighter in this photo (probably should have used a brighter pink ink...too late now!). I decided to try doing a more feminine card using the bronc buster set and this is what I came up with. lot's of distressing, on this one. For the cuttlebugged panel I crumpled it up, and distressed the edges with my paper distresser to try and give it a leathery look. The main image is popped up on dimensionals and then matted onto pretty in pink cs. The bg is flannel plaid stamped in pretty in pink onto white cs with lot's of distress ink. I added some raffia and hodgepodge hardware to finish it off.

Ropin' cowboy

I made this little guy the same time I made my other cowboy card. I had the paisley stamped panel left over from a few cards I made a while back, a few panels of designer paper already cut so just decided to throw them together and this was the result. I stamped the cowboy in staz on, paper pieced his shirt (in outlaw designer paper) and hat, and used some hemp twine for his lasso. I masked him to stamp the small oval (Amuse) to "ground" him. I added some stickles for his "sheriff badge" and embossed the sentiment "Howdy" (in the right hand bottom corner) in gold emboss powder.

Stamps: Cowboy kid, paisley bg, small oval (Amuse). CS: whisper white, chocolate chip, sage shadow, really rust and outlaw designer paper. Ink: Blk staz on, creamy caramel, really rust, chocolate chip marker, versamark. Access: hemp twine, stickles, gold emboss powder, heat gun, dimensionals.

I ordered my new stamps from the preview brochure at the end of last month and they were delivered yesterday...I swear they are calling to me. Hopefully, I will get some time to ink them up tonight. I mounted them last night so, they are all ready to go...can't wait!

Way to Go!

Last night on Splitcoast was the release party for Gina K's new stamp line. In celebration, there were a couple of challenges posted and one of them was a sketch challenge. This is what I came up with for the sketch.

I stamped the toilet, paper roll and plunger in staz on ink. For the toilet, I covered it in crystal effects to give it the "porcelain glazed" look. I used Basic Grey blush patterned paper to give this card more of a masculine feel. I slit a hole in the toilet bowl so the plunger would fit inside. I used staz on to stamp the "ladies/male" sign onto a large clear button and then heat embossed the sentiment in white emboss powder. The inside of the card reads "it's your Birthday, have some good clean fun!".

Outlaw print cowboy...

Okay, this set is seriously the cutest set ever! I don't know what it is about this darling little cowpoke but, he is such a fun set to play with. I pulled this set out to use the other night as I haven't used it in quite a while and decided to make a few cards to put in my supply to sell (the cards that is, not the set...lol).

I decided to paper piece his shirt using outlaw designer paper and his hat out of chocolate chip cs. I coloured him in using markers and added some stickles over his star for a little bling. I heat embossed the sentiment using white emboss powder and covered a clear button with a star from one of the designer print papers, scuffed it up and added it for some interest. I grounded the cowboy with the small oval stamp from Amuse. I added some distress ink along the edges of the main image, scuffed up the edges, and then used my sewing machine for all edges.

Stamps: Cowboy kid, it's your Birthday and small oval (Amuse). CS: chocolate chip, sage shadow, really rust, very vanilla and outlaw designer paper. Ink: Basic black, creamy caramel, versamark, distress ink and markers: sage shadow, chocolate chip. Access: white emboss powder, heat gun, clear button, file ( to distress button), sponge, dimensionals, stickles, sewing machine, paper distresser and blender pens.

Ruby blossoms...

I made this for the sketch challenge on Splitcoast. I decided to pull out my blossoms abound set. A set, that I don't use very oftern but cannot bear to let go of...lol. This set has such an elegance to it.

The main image has a tonne of stamping on it. I don't know if you can tell in the picture but, I stamped print pattern in blush blossom (stamped off) onto the whisper white, then stamped French Script (stamped off) in ruby red over it, then I stamped the blossoms in blush and ruby, the leaves (in artichoke and moss) and then stamped linen over the whole thing in mellow moss (stamped off). The sentiment at the bottom is heat embossed in gold and it says "from the heart". I added a cuttlebugged panel and the moss panel has been stamped in canvas with artichoke ink.
