From one bag to another...

Ha ha ha! Isn't this sentiment too funny?! This card is also made with the Crafty Secrets set. I had this scrap of pp and that was the colour inspiration for this card. Lot's of stitching, and a little doodling finished this card off. Pretty simple design but too cute.

Stamps: Coffee & tea (Crafty Secrets). CS: whisper white, real red, pretty in pink and Scenic Route pp. Inks: basic black, real red and creamy caramel (for colouring in images). Access: Sewing machine, dimensionals, black pen, blending pens, hemp twine, stapler.

Strong coffee and friendship...

WOW! Can you believe Christmas is done? It went by just as quick as it seemed to arrive. I always feel a little sad when it's all finished and done with. I love all the pretty lights, festive decorations, and just that cozy feeling watching the snow fall silently...ahhhh. Anywho, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, I know our family sure did. Santa was very good to us all!

I borrowed my friends awesome clear art stamps by Crafty Secrets. As I have mentioned many times before, I love vintage images and these coffee one are just waaaaay too adorable. For this card I really wanted some "retro" type paper and came across this print by Basic Grey from their "Blush" collection, and it was perfect. This is a very simple design but a powerful layout none-the-less. Main images are stamped in basic black. I stamped the coffee cup in basic black onto soft sky cs, cut it out, and mounted it onto the 1 3/8" circle punch. I covered the "coffee" part in crystal effects for a slick look and popped it up with dimensionals. Added some matting and ribbon and that pretty much finished it off.

Stamps: Clear art stamps (Coffee&Tea, Crafty Secrets), CS: soft sky, close to cocoa, pretty in pink, Basic Grey pp (blush collection) and whisper white cs. Ink: Basic black. Access: crystal effects, white taffeta ribbon, brown grosgrain ribbon and prima ribbon (?), dimensionals.

Pomegranate Holiday tins...

This is the last of my Holiday projects and also my last post until after Christmas. These were for a couple of my Daughter's teachers (pre-school helpers). I purchased these window tins from Gina K designs. I covered them with the Holiday time designer paper that was in the last mini. I also added a band of paper in the inside as well. I filled the tins with Lindor chocolates ((((yummy! drool, drool))))) Then tied on some satin pomegranate ribbon. I love this ribbon, so elegent.

Cocoa gift set...

Here is another hot chocolate tin. Once again, made with Papertrey's tea tins. I used Basic Grey patterned paper for this one and also made a matching card. This will go out to another of my Daughter's teachers. I punched a hole in the side of the tin using my cropodial and added a little tag that gives instructions on how to make the cocoa.

Supplies:

Card: Stamps: Peaceful wishes, small script. CS: whisper white, always artichoke, cranberry crisp and Basic Grey patterned paper (Dasher and fruitcake). Inks: always artichoke, mellow moss, ruby red marker Nick Bantock distress ink (Van Dyke brown). Access: hodgepodge harware, organdy May Arts ribbon.

Tea tin:

Stamps: Like it a latte. CS: Whisper white, old olive and ruby red, basic grey patterned paper (dasher and fruitcake). Inks: close to cocoa, ruby red, Nick Bantock distress ink (Van Dyke brown). Access: Liquid applique, dimensionals, cropodial, brads, silver cord, moss grosgrain ribbon, ticket corner punch, tag, tea tin and hot chocolate.

I have one more little gift project to show you and then it will be back to cards. I made a sweet double pocket bag and matching cards to fill it but unfortunately sent it off without photographing it first...(insert sad face).

I did want to mention that anyone who is wanting directions to the star album can contact me and I can email them to you (for anyone that is interested) OR I believe there is a tutorial on Splitcoast (in the resources section, under projects), that is not the directions I used so am unsure if they work out the same or not.

Tomorrow early evening, I will be heading to Vancouver for Christmas with my family and will not be blogging while over the Christmas Holidays. I will be back home sometime around the 28th or after the weekend. Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas, and gets spoiled rotten!!!

Star album...

WOW! If you have never made a star album or seen one...you are missing out. They are so incredible! This is a shot of the outside cover.

This is how it looks open, the pages are small and keep the emphasis on the photo's but still give you just enough room to add a little embellishing and momento's. Check out how the album looks fully opened and the tied up...Notice the "Star" shape!

How impressive is that?! A friend of mine made one, and once I saw hers, I had to try my hand at it. What do you think?

Got snow gift set...

This is a tea tin I have decorated for one of my daughter's teachers for Christmas. The tea tin was purchased from Papertrey ink. We have filled the tea tin with homemade hot chocolate (I got the recipe from Nicole at Papertrey ink's blog here). I made a matching card to compliment the gift and loved how the "Got snow?" set (by Gina K) matched the patterned paper I used. I brayered white craft ink over the embossed snowflakes, coloured the main image with prismacolour pencils, gamsol and a stump, accented the image with liquid applique and embossed the sentiment in white emboss powder. For the tea tin, I adhered the patterned paper with strong double sided tape, for the main image, I used liquid applique for the "whipped cream", inked the edges with distress ink, ticket corner punched the corners and added some eyelets.This is a view of the lid of the tea tin. I layered a bunch of circle layers, and embossed the riveting stamp in white emboss powder and added some ribbon.

Card: Stamps: got snow. CS: whisper white, real red, wild wasabi, Autumn leaves patterned paper. Ink: Black staz on, versamark, white craft ink. Access: real red grosgrain, liquid applique, prismacolour pencils, gamsol, stump, cuttlebug, emboss folder, white emboss powder, heat gun and large oval punch.

Tea tin: stamps: Like it a latte, riveting. CS: whisper white, real red, mellow moss and autumn leaves patterned paper. Inks: real red, wild wasabi, versamark and van dyke brown distress ink (Nick Bantock). Access: real red grosgrain ribbon, liquid applique, sponge, dimensionals, ticket corner punch, white eyelets, mega circle punch, fiskars circle cutter, 1 3/8 circle punch, 1 1/4 circle punch, white emboss powder, heat gun.

Christmas place settings...

My daughter's pre-school teacher asked me if I would make her some place settings for her dinners over the holidays. I of course accepted and found instructions on these little boxes on Splitcoast by artystamper (I believe she got the instructions from another Splitcoaster). You can find her original with instructions here. These are great for place settings as you can put little chocolates or mints in the boxes. Her order was for 34 of these babies.

Vintage St. Nick...

Another Christmas design for you. Still using my gorgeous vintage Santa Claus stamp from the Stampington & Company. I finally used up some patterned paper I have had in my stash for a couple of years (hanging head in shame...lol) I don't know if you can tell in the picture it says "Ole St. Nick" over and over. I added lots of distress ink, and distressed the edges of the main image. The rest is pretty self explanatory, so I won't bore you with the details.

Supplies:

Stamps: Vintage Santa (Stampington & Company). CS: natural ivory cs, handsome hunter, cranberry crisp and very vanilla. Inks: bravo burgundy, van dyke brown (Nick Bantock). Access: sponge, corner ticket punch, distress tool, ribbon (May Arts), brads, cuttlebug and emboss folder.

Bright wishes

This is a card I made a few weeks ago and finally got around to uploading it. For some reason it did photograph a little dull in person, it is much more crisp and bright. I made these for some of my personal cards and also to sell. I love the colour combo.

Stamps: snowfall. CS: wild wasabi, real red, soft sky and whisper white. Ink: same. Access: May Arts ribbon, sewing machine.

A very simple card to do and could easily be mass produced, the longest thing to do on these cards was the stitching on the sewing machine.

Baby Boy gift set...

This is a gift set I made for my Sister-in-law who just had her second son. First off, I cannot take ANY creative credit for the main card. I cased it straight from Yvette, you can see her gorgeous card here. The only thing I changed on her card was instead of using creamy caramel, I used river rock. Normally, I would not have uploaded a direct case to my blog but, I wanted to upload it with the notecards I made for my sis-in-law and I absolutely adore the design of this card. The notecards are stamped in staz on onto whisper white cs, watercoloured with blue bayou and then the sentiment is stamped in blue bayou. This is the most simple design I have ever stamped in my life and was amazed at how striking it looks. I made her 10 of each design, and wrapped them in ribbon as a baby gift.

Stamps: Buggies and Booties, print pattern bg, French script bg, linen bg, wonderful words. CS: river rock, soft sky, blue bayou, watercolour paper, whisper white cs. Inks: Black staz on, blue bayou, soft sky, not quite navy re-inker, Van Dyke brown (Nick Bantock distress ink). Access: watercolour brush, sponge, paper piercer, mat pack, gingham ribbon, circle punch, computer (Font for tag), jump ring and sewing machine.

Problems with Blogger!

I was hoping to post something today but, low and behold there is a glitch with blogger and whatever I upload doesn't show up, just a red X. Hopefully whatever issues the site is having will be sorted out soon and I can post.

Peaceful Wishes gift set...

This is a little gift set I made to send to one of my Grandma's for Christmas. The mini frame was purchased from Michaels for $1.50 (it's just plain wood), a 12 piece nugget box and a matching card. I covered the frome using Basic Grey's fruitcake line, modge podge, Basic Grey's distress file set and then some cute stickers (I popped up on dimensionals) by Melissa Francis (they are vintage looking and matched the frame perfectly. I pasted another coat of modge podge over the paper to protect it. and then added some gorgeous ribbon from May Arts, added a picture of my daughter and Santa and she was all done! (The only thing I would have liked to have added to the frame would have been either a stamp or rub on saying "Believe" along the top of the frame?!).

The nugget box was super easy! I found a thread on Splitcoast where Chris (cdjkssss) has been so generous as to share her instructions for nugget boxes in every size you could possibly want. Check it out here. Thanks so much Chris! Anywhoo, I alternated different patterned papers for the wrappers on the nuggets, I made the lid out of acetate so you could see how beautiful the chocolates look in their covers. ( There was actually a challenge for clear lidded nugget boxes on Splitcoast last week I think, what a great idea!). I added some gold cord, a punched circle of matching patterned paper, a Christmas bulb I cut out of co-ordinating paper, tied gold ribbon and popped it up on dimensionals.

For the card, I stamped "Peaceful wishes" onto natural ivory cs, taking care to repeatedly stamp the branch (always artichoke ink) before re-inking to give some faded images. I added the mistletoe (?) in close to cocoa ink and then used ruby red marker for the berries and covered them with crystal effects. I stamped the sentiment in versamark and heat embossed it in gold. Stamped the pine cones in chocolate chip, cut out, popped up onto dimensionals and then covered with crystal effects as well. I still found the main image a little "cold" looking so sponged so saffron ink all over the main image and it gave the effect I was hoping for.

Inks: always artichoke, old olive, close to cocoa, versamark, ruby red marker, so saffron (sponged on). Access: sponge, crystal effects, dimensionals, brads (making memories), shoe lace brad (Karen Foster), gold cord, ticket corner punch.
