My new stampin space!!

These are the newest photo's I quickly snapped of my new stamping room. I still need to add some pictures on the walls and what not but, it is pretty much finished for now. I can't believe that this gorgeous space is all mine. Now, if I could just get some time to get in there and create...lol.
I have my tables set up in an "L" shape and I got the tables from Costco (would love to have counter tops but...one day! The cabinets and matching white shelves were on clearance at home depot, (they are actually 3 seperate units). The paper storage, are rubber maid, 2 shelf storage units. I bought an extra 2 units but, just used the 4 shelves from each unit (2 shelves, plus top and bottom piece, so, that ended up giving me an extra 8 shelves). My ink pad storage are dvd holders from Ikea. My favorite part of the room are the vintage/antique containers I received from my Grandmother and the warm saffron colour on the walls. Having the cabinet doors are super nice to "hide" my tools and not so nice looking clutter...lol. On the bookcase, I have glass jars to hold my ribbon.

Pumkin patch candy bar holders

These are the last 2 chocolate bar holders I needed to make. Check out my previous post for a link to Michelle Boyers blog for directions on how to make her candy bar holders!! I turned one of them on their side so you could get a better view of where the chocolate bar slides in. I just punch a little hole in the wrapper and tie on some ribbon so you can just pull the bar out. I did lots of masking on the pumkins so it looks like they are all sitting in the patch just waiting to be brought home. I used the papertrey Halloween set but, I think it would look awesome with the carved and candlelit set as well.

Stamps: Papertrey. CS: basic black, old olive, very vanilla, Halloween patterned paper from SU! (last year). Inks: pumkin pie, old olive, basic black. access: more mustard grosgrain ribbon, chocolate bar, hole punch.

Halloween Treats...

How cute are these chocolate bar holder cards??? I was perusing Michelle Boyers awesome blog and came across her instructions to make these chocolate bar holders. Well! I knew I had to whip some up for the special kiddo's in my life. (I live waaay out in the sticks and do not have any trick or treaters, no sense in going way out in decorations either so, these still let me make something special for my daughters little friends). Here is Michelle's blog and her instructions on how to make these are too simple!

I still have a couple more to make, but needed to get a couple of these ones out into the mail pronto.

New paint and finally a new card!

Well, this is it! So saffron, on my walls. My previous colour was a really dark earthy green, a very cold colour to boot so, this is like pure heaven for me. I cannot believe how bright and open and warm the room feels now!

I will have more photo's to share once I get the boxes of flooring taken out of my room...lol. I have new cabinets and shelves all put up on the walls, it look so good. My hubby did all of this for me and I am so lucky and so spoiled! I wish the flooring was being put down in there now but, no such luck. Eventually it will happen, I guess...ha ha ha.

Now, onto the newest creation. Using my friends fabulous flowers again, and I really wanted to play with the new basic grey colour.

Stamps: fabulous flowers, all in a row. Inks: basic grey, blue bayou, soft sky, pretty in pink. CS: basic grey, soft sky, pretty in pink, blue bayou and whisper white.

I really wanted to tie on some super fun fibres and ribbon, but I didn't want to cover up the huge blossom so for once, (gasp) I didn't add any ribbon! I stamped on the all in a row instead and am very happy with the outcome. This card is a 5.25X5.25 square.

Wish big...

Well, my room better get finished pretty quick here...this is the last of cards that I haven't shown you yet...lol. Yesterday was spent shopping for organizational furniture and solutions...not much out there! I wish I was able to have countertops to work on, custom built shelving, cupboards and paper holders....an island in the middle of the room....ahhhhhh! Pure heaven it would be...lol. Oh well, what I am getting really will be heaven to me so, I am not complaining...lol. I will post some pictures once I get some taken...lol.

I made this card for my Husband for his Birthday last month, I went nice and simple and must say, I was happy with the outcome.

Stamps: Think big. Inks: chocolate chip, more mustard. CS: Morning marigold, chocolate chip, buckaroo blue, very vanilla and designer paper. Access: Grosgrain ribbon, hodgepodge hardware, paper piercer, mat pack, circle punches.

Away in a manger...

My stamp tables are away right now (Grandma had to borrow them for her garage sale) and my stamp room in completely dismantled; I will not have any new cards to share right now. I have decided to take advantage of my tables being out to re arrange and re decorate my space. I do have my latest swap card to share though.

I coloured the image using my blender pens and ink from the tops of the pads. I wiped the edges of the main image in versamark and heat embossed them with gold emboss powder. I did 3 mini panels showcasing the new designer paper from the mini, and matted the card base a few times.

Stamps: Baby Jesus is born. Ink: black staz on, purely pomegranate, always artichoke, close to cocoa, creamy caramel, bordering blue. CS: river rock, purely pomegranate, always artichoke, natural ivory, designer paper. Access: word window punch, eyelets, thread, versamark, gold emboss powder, heat gun, blender pens, pomegranate stitched ribbon.

Believe...

The "ways to use it" challenge on Splitcoast this week was to use twill tape on your card. I borrowed this set from a friend and have been dying to use it and cut it up and layer this huge blossom. So, that is exactly what I did. I popped the layers up with dimensionals, curled some of the flower petals for dimension and coated the blossom with dazzling diamonds. I used some gorgeous "dasher" paper from Basic Grey, which gave this card exactly the feel I was hoping for...Old world, vintage. I only had this one strip of twill tape and on the opposite side of what I used it says "merry Christmas" with trees and what not, but it just didn't fit with this design so I used the other side. Of course, that left me with the problem of not being able to tie a little knot with the tape (for fear of seeing what's on the other side...lol) so, I just tied a little black gingham ribbon to finish it off nicely. Another 5 1/4 X 5 1/4 design.

Stamps: Fabulous flowers, baroque motifs. Ink: ruby red, rose red, basic black. CS: very vanilla, ruby red, old olive, Dasher designer paper by Basic Grey. Access: 2way glue pen, dazzling diamonds, dimensionals, twill tape, gingham ribbon, slit punch, ticket corner punch, brads, sparkly rub on (Making Memories).

Simple joys...

I made this for today's sketch challenge on Splitcoast. I made this card 5.5X5.5 so, it's a biggie...lol. I coloured the Rubber Romance image with prismacolour pencils, gamsol and a stump. I used paisley and houndstooth bg stamps for the background panels. I wanted sort of a "high fashion" look to this card because the ladies in the image look very high fashion...lol. Lots of layers to this card.

Stamps: Rubber Romance, paisley, houndstooth bg. Inks: close to cocoa, groovy guava, chocolate chip. CS: close to cocoa, blue bayou, soft sky, groovy guava, very vanilla. Access: prisma pencils, gamsol, stump, stitched ribbon.

Just truckin'

I needed to make a masculine card for my nephew, and the colours for the colour challenge on Splitcoast were perfect I thought. Blue bayou, river rock and chocolate chip. I paired these colours up with the retired classic pick ups set. I knew immediately that I wanted to have the low rider truck driving along the border of the card. It was nice using this set and not colouring it. it is such a detailed stamp that I thought it could stand on it's own. I embossed the "celebrate" stamp from the lexicon of love set on the blue panel and set the main truck image on dimensionals.

Stamps: classic pick ups, lexicon of love. Inks: chocolate chip, versamark. CS: river rock, chocolate chip and blue bayou. Access: clear emboss powder, heat gun, blue bayou stitched ribbon.

Floral Latte....

For today's new technique challenge we were to re-make one of our own cards and change nothing but the stamps. So, I re-made a recent get well card I made and changed the main stamped image. I even kept the same sentiment except, this will be a thank you card. I stamped the latte cup in saffron ink onto vanilla cs, then stamped it again, embossed it with clear emboss powder and popped it up onto dimensionals. I did the same with the heart, and whipped topping. I also added some dazzling diamonds to the whipped topping.

Stamps: Like it a latte, Holidays & wishes. Inks: so saffron, wild wasabai, ruby red, close to cocoa, versamark and distress ink (Tim Holtz-walnut ink). CS: cranberry crisp, so saffron, wild wasabai, very vanilla, and Crate paper. Access: horizontal slot punch, celery grosgrain ribbon, hodgepodge hardware, brads, large oval punch, clear emboss powder, heat gun, sponge, sewing machine and dimensionals.

I love this set! Another I wish had made it into the catty...lol.
